Anemia in Pregnancy

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), anemia in pregnancy is defined as a hemoglobin (Hb) concentration less than 11 g/dL (Hematocrit <32%).

 

Normal: Hb ≥ 11 g/dL

Anemia: Hb < 11 g/dL (Hematocrit <32%)

 

It is further classified based on severity- Mild, moderate and severe.
