Serovars A, B, and C are responsible for causing trachoma, a chronic keratoconjunctivitis that can lead to blindness if untreated.

 

Serovars D-K cause urogenital infections and inclusion conjunctivitis.

 

Serovars L1, L2, and L3 cause lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV), which can lead to systemic infections and lymphadenopathy.
