Crude Birth Rate

(CBR)

The number of live births per 1,000

people in a given year.

General Fertility

Rate (GFR)

The number of live births per 1,000

women of childbearing age (typically ages 15-49)

in a given year.

General Marital

Fertility Rate

(GMFR)

The number of live births per 1,000

married women of childbearing age (typically ages 15-49)

in a given year.

Total fertility rate

(TFR)

Measures the overall fertility rate without

differentiating between genders.

Gross reproductive rate

(GRR)

Measures the rate of producing female offspring

without accounting for mortality.

Net reproductive rate

(NRR)

Measures the rate of producing female offspring

while accounting for mortality, indicating whether

a population is growing, shrinking, or remaining stable.
