The five stages of grief, according to psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, are:

1. Denial: Refusing to accept the reality of the loss.

2. Anger: Feeling intense frustration and anger, often at oneself or others.

3. Bargaining: Trying to make deals or promises to reverse the loss or mitigate its impact.

4. Depression: Experiencing deep sadness, despair, or hopelessness.

5. Acceptance: Coming to terms with the reality of the loss and finding a way to move forward.
